Family Health Center

of Benicia

"We treat common illnesses uncommonly well"

We are A part of John muir, hills physician and Northbay Healthcare-western health advantage (WHA) Networks

as of 10/6/2021

To our dear patients:

The Family Health Center of Benicia remains open despite the Solano County Shelter-In-Place Advisory.

We are seeing both Office and Telephone visits in order to best serve our diverse patient populations.

Telephone Visits are appropriate for:

-Any person with cough or fever within the last week

-Any person with suspected COVID-19 exposure

-Any Medicare patients with issues that can be handled effectively over the phone.

For phone visits, any vital signs provided by home equipment such as ht, weight, blood pressure and pulse is helpful.

Office Visits are appropriate for:

-Patients without cough, fever, or exposure risk presenting for routine care such as Women's Health, diabetes management, chronic pain or preventative care.

-Any Medicare patients with issues that cannot be handled effectively over the phone.

Patients 65 and older should strongly consider telephone visits if feasible.

COVID-19 Update:

Meet Dr. Dixon

Walt Zaks, MD

Walt Zaks founded the Family Health Center of Benicia along with 2 other family doctors over 30 years ago and has been providing quality care here ever since.

In the office, Dr. Zaks focuses on management of chronic medical disease as well as psychiatric issues, weight loss, minor procedures and urology. In office urology procedures include vasectomies, excisional biopsies, shoulder & back injections. Dr. Zaks enjoys providing visual explanations for his patients by drawing photos to explain medical conditions.

In his spare time he lives an active lifestyle, with kitesurfing being his sport of choice.  You can sometimes find him sailing in the straits just in front of our office building.
